Description
Munster is a strong, washed-rind cow's milk cheese produced in the regions between Franche-Comté, Alsace and Lorraine. Soft, creamy and high in fat, it is flavoured by high mountain meadows, and makes an excellent cooking cheese.
Red wine's dark, fruity acidity cuts through and compliments the unctuous savour of Munster, so a full-bodied red is the best partner. If you are using in cooking, try with onions, potatoes (or pasta) and bacon in a gratin or bake.
